Mother Nature does serve up magnificent vistas throughout her vast and grand natural expanses. Americans, having a notable affinity for excess and all things large, don’t yield easily to the competitive metaphorical challenge from the old lady. With characteristic zeal we have Super-sized; 64 ounce Double Gulps, 64 inch TVs, humongous SUV’s, that about says it all. Who has produced the more impressive? We guess you just have to get out and decide for yourself. This hike is 7+ miles, 1500' vertical gain on a one-way route through the San Gabriel mountains . Meet 9:30 AM at the La Canada carpool point. Bring a minimum of 1 qt liquid, lunch, and hiking-style boots. Leaders: GARY CROW & VERONIQUE PASCAL
