This is a listing of Earth Day events that are posted by the Sierra Club but not led by either the Sierra Club or the 20's and 30's chapter. We urge you to select an event and do your part on behalf of the environment, and have fun at the same time.
SATURDAY, APRIL 21 EVENTS
VINES WITH THE TREE MUSKETEERS
9 am to 1 pm. Help plant California blackberry vines in El Segundo at the West Grand entrance to the city at W. Grand Ave and Vista del Mar. Call 310-322-0263 for info.
PLANTING ON VAN NUYS BLVD
9 am to 1 pm. Join Tree People, Pacoima Beautiful, Pacoima Partners and Pacoima Youth Environmentalists to plant 130 trees as part of ongoing beautification. Call 818-753-4600.
LAGOON STATE BEACH TRAIL AND PARK CLEAN-UP
9 am - 5 pm. Meet at Day Use parking area of State Beach, Malibu, off PCH near Pepperdine University; Contact Haydon Sohm, 310-457-8140.
DUME STATE BEACH TRAIL AND PARK CLEAN-UP
9 am - 5 pm. Meet at gate at Potrero Rd, Thousand Oaks at Danielson Ranch off Highway 101. Contact Haydon Sohm, 310-457-8140.
DEL REY BEACH CLEAN-UP

SUNDAY, APRIL 22 EVENTS
LIONES CANYON PLANTING, WEEDING AND WATERING DAY, TOPANGA STATE PARK
9 am to 1 pm. Tree People and Calif State Parks host the planting of oaks, sycamores, other native trees and ivy removal. Call 818-623-4846
FOR EARTH DAY IN MARINA DEL REY
7:30 am - 2 pm. Ocean Conservation Society hosts clean-up of MDR. Clean up debris from a kayak! Also, there will be a clean-up from Ballona Creek's north bank. CALL FOR RESERVATIONS: 310-822-5205; to also check website: www.oceanconservation.org
