It's Our Last Stand to Tell City Council to
Vote "NO" on Oakmont View V

Help protect our Quality of Life and Natural Heritage, prevent
Over-building, and at least 12 years of Blasting, Bulldozing and
Construction

Oakmont View V is a proposed 572-home development on one of our city's pristine mountainsides, presented by a land speculator.  On March 12th the Glendale City Council will announce its decision whether to approve this development or not.  This land is currently enjoyed as a recreational area by many hikers, bikers, and equestrians.  The project is estimated to take at least 12 years.  It could take many years more, based on the time it took to build Oakmont IV!

Below are a few of the negative potentials of this project:

12 years or more of construction:

    Massive earth-moving

    Reshaping our mountainsides

    P

    Bad air quality affecting local

      residents and Camp Max Straus

After construction:

    Overcrowded local schools

    Gridlock on local streets

Danger from heavy traffic in neighborhoods

    Problems with disaster rescue

    Over 3,000 trees gone forever

    Taxpayer burdens

Slope stability and other land hazards

    Permanent scarring of our hillsides

    Increase in local air pollution

The latest revised draft environmental impact report lists 33 significant and unavoidable impacts and 25 more significant impacts on our quality of life from Oakmont View V!  There are many more impacts that the Sierra Club and others believe will negatively affect Glendale if this development is built!  Read about the EIR impacts yourself at http://www.ci.glendale.ca.us/government/rdeir/index.html.
