About Dogs and Hikes


For most people, the presence of a well behaved dog on a hike can be kind of fun, at worst a mild annoyance. Unbelievable as it seems, this is not true for everyone. Some people suffer from various levels of fear of dogs. Because of this, and the intrusion on wildlife can cause, the Sierra Club has a policy that dogs are not allowed on Club outings unless the original write-up states that they are welcome.
